The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010)

Michael Apted's latest film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the third installment of the cherished franchise. The story of the people and rulers of Narnia carry on in this film. At the end of the second film, the quartet kings and queens of Narnia – Lucy (portrayed by Georgie Henley), Edmund (portrayed by Skandar Keynes), Susan (portrayed by Anna Popplewell) and Peter (portrayed by William Moseley) – had helped Prince Caspian (portrayed by Ben Barnes) to rule the country in the name of them and as the de facto power in the country, he was willing to do whatever it takes to keep it safe and happy. The beginning of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader shows how it is impossible for Susan and Peter to return to Narnia as they have grown up and carried on with their lives. Lucy and Edmund on the other hand are welcomed back into Narnia as the remaining king and queen along with their annoying cousin Eustace (portrayed by Will Poulter). The entrance had shown itself in Eustace's home as the painting of an exotic ship on the wall decided to pour its sea water into the room, opening the gate. Skeptical Eustace is welcome on board despite his low manners. On the ship, we see Prince Caspian as the King now and he is on a voyage to collect all seven swords along with their rightful owners, the seven lords, to unite them for the salvation of Narnia. However, this voyage is full of its own obstacles as well as every person's personal obstacles such as Lucy's hope for turning out as beautiful as Susan, the sister she has been looking up to; Edmund is resenting being the number two and Caspian is still haunted by his past, causing him to struggle with problems regarding his self confidence. The voyage is full of exciting events including reaching at the end of the world, going to Aslan's lands and fighting a dragon. The fate of the seven lords is curious, as well. One thing must be mentioned that Will Poulter as Eustace is the star of this film. The other actors are very well, too. We are familiar with their portrayal and how fun they are. However, Will Pulter's portrayal of the annoying, sneaky and silly cousin Eustace is priceless. He is a perfect example for the film's Christian symbols as the non-believer turning to the light when he sees sense. This film will entertain a lot of people thanks to its enjoyable story, acting, effects and wide range of target audience.
