The Tourist has caused a buzz since its announcement and pictures from the shootings. The buzz has grown much bigger for it is captivating the fans with its trailers and you have got to give it to the director, Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. He has worked his magic once again in the film just like his The Lives of Others and he managed to cast Angelina Jolie alongside Johnny Depp as leading actors. Johnny Depp portrays Frank Tupelo, an American tourist who is on a vacation to get over his recent, nasty break up. He has decided to go to Europe and spend some time, think about stuff and lick his wounds while trying to get back on his feet and he meets Elise Clifton Ward on a train. Actually she meets him, just picking him amongst all other men and with her charming air, she manages to hook his attention. Elise is portrayed by Angelina Jolie and the character is an Interpol agent who happens to have had a secret romance with a fugitive who is being searched by both the authorities and Mafia. When they start a seemingly perfect and enchanting romance, people looking for the fugitive assume he is the man, only to have altered his face to avoid any recognition and contact from his foes. Elise's attention sets him as the target but there is a very curious thing going on throughout the film: is he really the guy, or is he a man Elise uses to distract the police and mafia from the actual fugitive? We are never sure up until the end and the way the story and the mystery unfold is something worth seeing. The story is not only interesting, but also it presents fresher aspects for the audience who have seen the original film Anthony Zimmer. So it would not be a waste of time for the viewers familiar with the story and the twists for the remake has its own unique twists. It would be very fun to see this film for anyone who is interested in a bit of mystery, thriller and some humour which has Depp's perfect timing.
